11 April, 2012His Excellency Dr. Burak Akcapar, Ambassador of Turkey to Nepal inaugurated a residential building for girl students at Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSoM) Balkumari, Lalitpur on 11 April, 2012.In the program Vice-Chancellor Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma expressed gratitude to the Turkish government for the support to Kathmandu University. He further said that the University has planned to extend the hostel facility as part of its policy of offering residential programs to as many students as possible. Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Akcapar expressed his happiness at being able to make some contribution to make it possible for girls of Nepal to access quality education and assured further support in the future. The Turkish government has partially supported for the construction of the building. It has provided 100,000 US$ through Turkey’s Development Cooperation TIKA for the construction.Prof. Subash KC, Dean, School of Management, expressed that the newly constructed building provides a further opportunity for female students to excel in their pursuit of quality business education.Mr. C. P. Khetan, the Consul General of Turkey to Nepal was also presented in the inauguration function.
