Department of Pharmacy Organizes Alumni Reunion

The Department of Pharmacy (DoP), School of Science, organized Alumni Reunion at CV Raman Auditorium on June 14, 2014. 

The program was initiated by Forum for Pharmacy (FoP). 

Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa, Controller of Examinations and Dean of School of Science, inaugurated the program. Following his address to the graduates, there were speeches by Dr. Rajani Shakya, Acting Head of DoP,  and Mr. Sailendra Shakya, Lecturer of DoP and Staff Coordinator for FoP. 

On the occasion, the 2014 edition of Pharmaquest, the official newsletter of FoP, was launched.

In an experience sharing session with the alumni, Mr. Jaya Bir Karmacharya, an MPharm graduate (batch 2002) and present Managing Director of Omnica Laboratories, emphasized on the need of organizing fund-raising programs through alumni to provide scholarship to pharmacy students and to conduct healthcare programs.  Mr. Robash Kusum Subedi (BPharm batch 1997, MPharm batch 2002), Factory Manager, Vega Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., expressed his keen interest to help KU all the time. Mr. Hiraman Shankhadev (BPharm batch 2001, MPharm batch 2009), Senior Pharmacist, Dhulikhel Hospital, suggested students to improve the practice of hospital pharmacy.

A discussion session on “Current scenario of pharmacy education at Kathmandu University and role of KU Pharmacy alumni for its improvement” was organized during the program. The alumni provided suggestions on quality education and better pharmacy profession.
