The State Secretary from the Ministry of International Development, Norway Ms. Biørg Sandjkaer visited Kathmandu University (KU) on June 8th, 2022. The State Secretary was accompanied by the Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Torun Dramdal and other Norwegian dignitaries. The delegates were welcomed by Vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa.
A short interaction program was held at the senate hall of KU. The Dean, Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, of the School of Engineering, extended his opening remarks. Acting Director of Planning & Development, KU, Associate Prof. Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa presented on collaboration between KU and various Norwegian entities from the initial phase till date and acknowledged the support provided by Norwegian counterparts and Norwegian government to KU. The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of KU, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, and the Registrar, Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, presented their remarks highlighting the importance of such collaboration. Honorable State Secretary Ms. Biørg Sandjkaer extended her remarks appreciating the work being done at Kathmandu University. The VC presented the token of love to all the delegates. The interaction program ended with the vote of thanks given by Associate Prof. Brijesh Adhikary. The overall program was organized and coordinated by the EnergizeNepal program office which was attended by KU officials, faculty members, project leaders, and staff.
The delegates visited Inghe Johannessen Block of KU, an eponymous building in the honor of a Norwegian professor, and the Turbine Testing Lab at KU.
