Kathmandu University on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, organized a ceremony to celebrate the new appointments and promotions of faculty. The event, organized in the CV Raman Auditorium, included the conferral of appointments of nine professors, five associate professors, 21 assistant professors, and one lecturer.

In the programme, moderated by Dr. Dinesh Kafle, Assistant Professor, School of Arts, each newly appointed professor gave a short inaugural lecture highlighting the future activities they plan to carry out at the university.

Prof. Dr. Achyut Prasad Wagle, the Registrar of the university, handed over the appointment letters. Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, the Vice-Chancellor, presented khada scarves to the appointees, and Ms. Jyoti Pradhan, Chief of the Human Resources Division, offered a bouquet to the newly promoted faculty.

During the programme, Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle, Registrar of the university, congratulated the new appointees. Prof. Wagle encouraged the new appointees to think of their appointments as not just professional achievements but also a responsibility towards the community. Vice-Chancellor called on the new appointees to not just confine themselves to their particular fields but also strive to reach out to other fields and expand their academic horizon. Prof Thapa also committed to starting another iteration of the faculty appointment and promotion programme soon.
