On 27 May 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Kathmandu University (KU) and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to promote Green Hydrogen Technologies for contribution to the domestic economy and better utilization of hydropower electricity.
From KU, Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Dean & Associate Dean of School of Engineering, Associate Director of Planning and Development Division, Representatives from School of Engineering and Science, and Researchers of Green Hydrogen Lab were present. From NEA, Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director and other officials were present.
Prof. Bhola Thapa, Vice-Chancellor, KU and Mr. Kul Man Ghising, Managing Director, NEA signed the MoU. This MoU has established a joint project between KU and NEA for “Pilot Scale Green Ammonia Production in Nepal for Contribution to Domestic Economy and Better Utilization of Hydropower Electricity”
