On 11th October 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Kathmandu University and the European University of Technology (EUt+), represented by the EUt+ partner Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT-Technical University of Cartagena). EUt+ is an alliance of eight European partners who share in common: the “Think Human First” vision towards a human-centered approach to technology and the ambition to establish a new type of institution on a confederal basis.
The agreement was signed by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa on behalf of Kathmandu University, while the Rector, Beatriz Miguel Hernandez, electronically signed on behalf of UPCT. Associate Professor Ruth Herrero Martin, Associate Professor Antonio García-Martin and Laura Wettersten witnessed the signing ceremony on behalf of UPCT. Also present in the ceremony were the Dean of the School of Engineering Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, the Associate Dean of the School of Engineering Mr. Brijesh Adhikary, the Associate Dean of the School of Science Prof. Dr. Bed Mani Dahal, the Director of Coordination and Communication Division Dr. Bibhuti Ranjan Jha, Head of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Dr. Ram Kaji Budhathoki, Associate Professor Dr. Shailendra Kumar Jha and Acting Director of Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate Dr. Gajendra Sharma. Assistant Professor Madhav Prasad Pandey moderated the program.
Dr. Herrero-Martin introduced the UPCT and expressed her delight in being invited to Nepal and Kathmandu University. She was happy to be a part of the B+NESDG team initiating and contributing to the MoU. She also expressed her excitement about further collaborations. Prof. Thapa thanked the representatives and discussed several areas of possible cooperation.
