On August 21, 2025, Kathmandu University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Turku, one of Finland’s leading universities, to strengthen academic and research collaboration.
The agreement was signed by KU Registrar Prof. Dr. Rajeev Shrestha, with Dr. Rabindra Bista, Lead of the Health Informatics Lab and NEEM Project, signing as a witness on behalf of KU. A representative from the University of Turku also endorsed the collaboration during the consortium titled “AI-powered Digital Library Services’ Convergence”, held at KU. The consortium is supported by the NEEM Project in partnership with the University of Turku and other collaborators.
The MoU is expected to strengthen academic cooperation and accelerate joint research, with an initial focus on AI-Enabled Digital Library Systems. Faculty members from both KU and the University of Turku have already begun working together in this area, marking a significant step toward innovation in digital knowledge systems.
