Fulbright Team at Kathmandu University
Mr. Tom Healy, Chair of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, paid a visit to Kathmandu University, Central Campus, Dhulikhel, on 4th June, 2012.
Mr. Healy interacted with the Faculties and the students of the University. He highlighted the mission of Fulbright Program that was started in 1946 initiated by the government of USA. The program provides scholarship and fellowship opportunity to scholars on their academic and research work worldwide. It enhances mutual understanding, multicultural identities, and dealing some of the issues together.
Nepal is also a beneficiary country where hundreds of competent scholars are getting opportunity of scholarship and fellowship from the beginning. Many Fulbright Scholars from America are also contributing in different parts of Nepal in different fields.
Dr. Laurie A. Vasily, Executive Director of US Educational Foundation – Nepal (USEF) described some required information like application process, documentation and selection criteria for Fulbright Program. KU graduates, despite tough competition, are succeeding to grab this opportunity for several years.
Numbers of quarries were responded in one-and-half hour long interaction.
