Combating Desertification and Adaptation Strategies for Climate Change in Asian Countries" held on 9 June 2009 at Korea University, Seoul, South Korea. Dr. Kayastha has given a talk on the Impact of Climate Change on Water Resources in Nepal.

He has also participated in a meeting on 10 June 2009 which was organized by the symposium organizers for effective camping for a side event on environmental and climate change problems faced by Asia-Pacific countries envisaged by Korea University in the coming United Nations Climate Conference-COP15 Copenhagen, 7-18 December 2009.
