Dr. Gunjan Bisht Thapa, Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering, presented a paper entitled 14th International Union of Materials Research Societies-International Conference on Advanced Materials (IUMRS-ICAM 2015) held on October 25(Sunday)~29(Thursday), 2015 at the Jeju International Convention Center in Jeju, South Korea.

The IUMRS-ICAM 2015 comprised 38 symposia and 3 workshops. The number of oral presenters was 810, and the number of poster presenters 884 from 41 different countries. The conference was aimed to advance the multidisciplinary nature of materials research internationally and to promote information exchange among national or regional societies with interests in interdisciplinary materials research and coordination among their activities.

In her paper, Dr. Bisht highlighted the use of supercritical carbon dioxide-based chemical synthesis of magnetic polymer nanocomposites and its beneficial application in biomedicine.
