The Department of Natural Sciences (DoNS) (Mathematics Group),
KU, organized a six-day Instructional Workshop on Applied Mathematics (IWAM
2014) from 21 to 26 February 2014, in collaboration with Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal Sanskrit
University (NSU) and Nepal Mathematical Society (NMS). A broader goal of the
Workshop was to contribute to the enhancement of Applied Mathematics in the Nepalese
context.
Twenty five persons including faculties, research scholars, M. Phil. and Master
level students from KU, TU and NSU actively participated in this Workshop.
Three Nepalese professors, Prof. Dr. Santosh Man Maskey (TU), Prof. Chet Raj
Bhatta (TU) and Prof. Kanhaiya Jha (KU),
and two renowned Indian professors Prof. Rajendra Prasad Pant from Kumaon
University, Nainital, and Prof. Pankaj Jain from South Asian University (a
university established by SAARC), New Delhi, were involved in this workshop as
principal resource persons.
