Team 'Pinpeaks', which comprised 5 students from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has successfully won the Ncell App Camp 2015 under the category 'Tourism'. The competition, organized on December 22 by Ncell in partnership with Esewa, Nabil Bank, Met Life and KCM, witnessed a total of 728 ideas, among which 153 were submitted under the 'Tourism' category.
With team members Rohit Shrestha, Ritesh Jung Thapa, Sohil Lal Shrestha, Hilson Shrestha and Aatish Neupane, 'Pinpeaks' won the prize money of NRs. 2,50,000.
According to the team leader Rohit Shrestha, Pinpeaks, basically, is a simple android application which lets users identify, search and locate nearby mountains and hills of Nepal. He explained, "For a country full of high mountains and hills, trekkers will be highly benefitted with this app."
Officiating director of Nepal Tourism Board, Mr Sunil Sharma, was one of those impressed by the novelty of the application and its devotion towards tourism industry of Nepal.
