Department
of Environmental Science & Engineering is organizing a two-day "Curricula Review Workshop" during
9-10 March 2014 in Mini Auditorium of
CV Raman Auditorium. This workshop is to be attended by some forty
participants.
During the workshop, undergraduate level curricula
of
B.Sc. (Hons.) Environmental Science, B.Tech. Environmental Engineering,
and specifically the lab-based and field-based courses shall be reviewed
in
sub group discussions and recommendation will be put forward to the
Department for further improvements. Similarly, M.Sc. Environment and
Natural Resources curriculum will also be revisited on the second day of
the workshop, which has already been reviewed by two independent
external
reviewers.
Participants shall review and analyse the existing course
structure and recommend a suitable course for Master in Environment and Climate Studies.
It is hoped
that this workshop will lead to find a way towards meaningful
interconnections among the theoretical, practical and field-based
activities in our effort to make field-based activities more
institutional.
The Workshop is partly supported by NORAD under the project
acronym SUNREM-Himalaya.
