AMES-JICA Rally on Road Safety

Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES), Kathmandu University, conducted a rally on ‘Road Accidents’ in collaboration with Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Saturday, 14 December. The program was supervised by Associate Dean Prof. Dr. Bim Prasad Shrestha and Coordinated by AMES Vice-President Mr. Prakash Giri. KU Students started the rally at KU gate and reached 28 Kilo. AMES Secretary Mr. Saurav Bista made an arrangement for resuming the rally at Sallaghari, Bhaktapur.

The Rally was sponsored by JICA/Nepal and supported by other NGOs in Bhaktapur.  The programme was attended by JICA Senior Volunteer Mr. Hiroyuki FUSHIMI, JICA  Representative Mr. Kentaro SUEKANE and Traffic Inspector Mr. Rajan Pokhrel.

The attendees provided important information and suggestions regarding the road accidents and the role of students to minimize them. AMES president Mr. Anil Kumar Bastola highlighted the importance of Youth and their involvement in Road Safety.  Mr. Prakash Giri concluded the programme.
